Lego Releases Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 Model

Author : Qijing Date : 2015-7-13 9:33:33
If you grew up during the ’80s and ’90s, well before the era of smartphones and the Xbox, chances are you played with Legos. The Danish plastic building block manufacturer probably inspired hundreds of youngsters to pursue education and careers in engineering or construction, as well as plenty of expletives uttered by mom or dad as they stepped on an errant brick on the way to the fridge for a midnight snack. Regardless, the popularity of Lego is as strong today as it’s ever been since its inception. A big part of that popularity is the company’s continuing innovation and introduction of new products. The latest addition to the Lego Technic portfolio is the company’s model of the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 truck.

This highly technical model features an articulating suspension and Lego’s new second-generation Pneumatics 2.0 system to power the bucket loader. The model is one of the most complex and sophisticated in the Lego Technic line, with more than 2,700 individual pieces and an overall length of up to 30 inches. Lego designers worked closely with Mercedes-Benz engineers to make the details and functions of the Arocs model as close to the real thing as possible, including handrails, steps, and wheel chocks.
