Cummins Turbo Technologies stages Interesting Vehicles Day

Author : Date : 2013-7-12 9:19:58

Cummins Turbo Technologies staged its seventh annual Interesting Vehicles Day to raise money for its 2013 charity, the Hollybank Trust at Mirfield.

Employees proudly showed off their own customised vehicles at the firm’s Turnbridge site.

They were joined by a number of cars from international racing teams, rare classic and sports cars, trucks of various vintages, an array of motorcycles and several electric and pedal-powered vehicles.

Pupils from local schools also attended the event at St Andrew’s Road to meet Cummins engineers and car enthusiasts.

And Bradford University displayed a hovercraft made by students.

Last year’s event raised £1,700 for the White Knights motorcycle blood and organ service – when an original signed photograph of Ayrton Senna in his Holset turbocharged F1 car was auctioned and contributed towards this total raised.

Organisers were hoping to raise even more money this time for the Hollybank Trust, which meets the needs of local adults and children with complex disabilities by providing residential care, nursing and a specialised education.

Bidders in this year’s auction had the chance to win a ride in a Radical race car and take a tour of the Leeds base of motorsports company United Autosports and Jaguar’s site at Castle Bromwich, West Midlands.
